Overview

Restoran Happy Town stands as a vibrant cafeteria tucked within the lively neighborhood of SS 15, Subang Jaya. This local gem offers a diverse spread, showcasing an impressive variety of Malaysian and Southeast Asian fare that caters well to both casual diners and food enthusiasts seeking traditional flavors with a homely touch.

The menu is a rich tapestry of iconic dishes like Fried Rice with Egg, Char Kuey Teow, and Roasted Chicken Rice paired thoughtfully with Char Siew. Lovers of noodle soups find comfort in offerings like Pork Noodle Soup, Beef Noodle Soup, and the distinctive Bitter Pan Mee Soup. Not to be missed, the Indian fare such as Masala Dosa and Curries speak to the multicultural fabric of the place, appealing to those craving authentic Indian tastes. Notably, an authentic Vietnamese stall enriches the dining experience with specialties like dry-style fried beef noodles and banh mi, albeit with a twist that local palates have mixed feelings about.

The space echoes with a bustling, unpretentious vibe characteristic of neighborhood cafeterias. Diners often mention the warmth of the dining area, which, while cozy, can feel a bit warm during peak hours – a minor discomfort in exchange for hearty portions and flavor-packed dishes. The atmosphere is informal, inviting patrons who appreciate straightforward, no-frills dining. The staff, especially the cooks behind signature stalls such as the one serving Ayam Penyet, are praised for their skill and passion, enhancing the overall authenticity of the food.

Restoran Happy Town’s appeal lies in its generous servings and reasonable pricing, striking a balance between value and quality. Patrons range from local office workers seeking a quick yet satisfying meal to food adventurers eager to explore a broad spectrum of regional cuisines under one roof. The presence of stalls managed by native cooks, particularly the Vietnamese and Indian vendors, adds depth to the culinary offerings, making it a worthwhile destination for those who value genuine taste experiences.

While some dishes like the pork chop noodles and luncheon meat rice receive consistent praise for their comforting flavors and satisfying textures, others such as the rojak and certain dim sum items have drawn criticism, reminding diners this is a place where curiosity is rewarded but expectations should be tempered. Communication can occasionally be a challenge, especially with the Vietnamese stall where limited language fluency adds to the authentic yet rustic charm of the experience.

In essence, Restoran Happy Town is a culinary crossroads that reflects Malaysia’s rich food culture through a cafeteria setting. It invites a diverse crowd, delivering hearty meals that tell stories of tradition and multicultural influences. For those craving a relaxed atmosphere paired with a broad spectrum of well-loved local dishes and some adventurous regional choices, Happy Town remains a dependable, flavorful stop in Subang Jaya.

Vietnamese food is surprisingly nice. I like the sour & spicy sauce comes with the dry style fry beef noodle. Beef was ok ish. The pickle carrot & radish is refreshing too. The stall owner is Vietnamese too but the aunty may have difficulty in communicating.

Vietnamese stall serves tasty dishes. You will get actual Vietnamese experience as dishes are prepared by vietnamese woman, who doesn't speak english/malay/mandarin. Average wait time is 20-30 minutes. Ambient temperature at the dining area can get too warm most of the time.

Dislike the steamed egg and why can't the rice be warm...cold rice is so sad 5/10/25 Ong burger, RM10 per burger .....any burger! RM8 onion rings alone. RM12 for the set inclusive onion rings. Tantan noodles .. RM9 yummy and comforting Popcorn chicken was freshly fried, salty and seasoned, noodles not too salty RM9 Pan mee dry ( made by a guy) crunchy bilis but noodles were too starchy mouthfeel, not a fav tonight !!!!! Rojak had shards of broken pink plastic sharp, dangerous you.... 12/9/25 Zhajangmien RM9, lots of texture and colours from carrots, minced meat, bok choy and cucumber slivers were lovely and crunchy (but unfortunately cukes bitter.) nice thick noodle. Tasted better with the Chilli oil otherwise too sweet. Dumpling noodle RM9 Juicy pork and chives dumplings, bok choy and thick chewy noodles in clear soup ( same broth as tantan noodles...difference is the tantan has pork balls and stuff) Excellent value for both. Fried Kueh Kak RM9, generous portion and tastes ok. Nice girl. 7/25 Bak Kut Teh noodle RM10, nice Dai chou : sambal petai chicken RM11. So generous! 14/4/25 Mama Mee RM8 Really reasonable price. Not spicy at all. Served in a Stylo steel pot but was very difficult to access as it was too deep to lift out the food. And unlike the photo illustrated on the board, there was zero veg. Intensely flavoured Thai tomyam noodle with pork balls+paste+egg. No green veg. Rojak RM7.50 sweet sauce. Crunchy young papaya, cucumber, sengkuang, soft pineapple, green mango and fried flat cracker. Overall good, will reorder from this stall right at the entrance. Satay RM10. 5 chicken, 2 beef, 1 nasi impit. Nope. Forgot Cucumber not fresh.nasi impit. Boiled in plastic. Served all together tightly on one plate. Very cheap but will not repeat. 9/3/25 Pork chop noodle still amazing value!Noodles are springy with a nice mouthfeel. Comes with soup and crunchy deep fried pork chop. Only detractor is it's very salty. Must cut down on the soy sauce in the Kon lou. Has that distinct China taste, pork chop was very crunchy and non porky, no fat RM10? Char kuay teow wasn't good. RM10 2/2025 New Vietnamese stall with so many exciting items to try. Banh mi was RM9 but hmn no....had mayo and chilli sauce! Chicken floss, no pate or terrine, very local tasting bahn mi...kinda maybe Ramli hotdog Vietnamese style with a baguette..? Fish head noodle, also no. No wine, no kiam chye or sour fruity thing..just few slices insipid soggy fried dory swimming in mild milky soup. 30/12/24 Love the wantan Mee guy, he's so nice. RM8.50. still good, excellent value. Roti bakar with pantan kaya and margerine RM2.50 for 2 slices Surprisingly western, wanton Mee and fried rice still open at 10pm! pan mee seller sometimes doesn't seem to know how to return change correctly but her noodles are delicious Dim sum is dreadful. Every dish was served cold, hard, uninspiring.....and with a scowl. Soon Fried rice is always good, Thai beef noodle..lots of sinewy tyre like tendons that need precise chewing. Wantan Mee Soup. RM8.50 Ice Jelly+Barley =RM7.50 Chinese tea ice RM1 Hot Chinese tea 80 sen Luncheon meat rice was delicious. comforting, easy to eat and what many ppl who like processed food with zero veggies will enjoy. RM10 I think Update 16/4 : today a lady prepared the luncheon meat rice instead of the man, and she plated everything wayyy better so it was much easier to eat instead of digging deep into a bowl, gave 1 extra slice of luncheon meat and added veggies as well! Will definitely order from her in future

Tried these pastries in Seremban some years ago. One of the famous brand for Seremban Siew Bao. Pastries were crispy and nice. This time I cannot resist the egg & cheece tart. Fillings full to the rim with just the right amount of sweetness. The pastry base was soft and not too thick.
